There are already specific protected areas and nature reserves within Saint Lucia but the method of monitoring these areas needs to be strengthened and the public needs to be educated further about where these protected areas are and what restrictions are in place. Also, raising awareness about endemic or rare plants and encouraging the public to take a greater interest in cultivating these. Protection of our local flora and fauna and educating the public will help to reduce the loss of our biodiversity
